Best of THON

By Cora Rodriguez

THON 2024 is officially in the Penn State history books. It is only fitting to see the best of the best from this weekend.

Best Section in the BJC: 121 & 122 Section

This section specifically was radiating with lots of energy. Every time the camera panned to this section or even during a concert, they were electric.

Best Letter Sign: Sigma Pi x Delta Zeta

The Mario-themed greek letter signs were neat and well done. To learn more about why this is the favorite, check out this article.

Best food item: Grilled Cheese

Most would say the chicken baskets were the best, but the grilled cheese at Portal 24 was the best. The cheesiness and crispiness filled anyone’s stomach up and it was the perfect comfort food.

Best shirt: Eclipse

These shirts were the most creative and fun out of all the shirts. The design on the back a green iguana and each shirt rocked their Four Diamond child’s name on the front. This design overall was cute.

Best performance: Walk the Moon

Walk the Moon’s performance shook the BJC and set the mood for the rest of the weekend. They featured songs like “One Foot” and “Lost in the Wild.” They also played “Shut Up and Dance,” which embodied THON completely.

Best dance in pep rally: Men’s Gymnastics

Men’s Gymnastics performance during the pep rally was perfect. For more information about their performance, check out this article (link to article) from Cora Rodriguez

Best encouragement video: Joe Jonas

On Sunday before Family Hour, without warning, Joe Jonas popped on the Jumbotron to tell everyone a message. This message was very heartwarming and coming from Joe Jonas was an experience nobody was expecting.

Best Line Dance: Generation line dance (2019, 2020,2021, 2022, 2023, 2024)

The second to last line dance was the favorite of the weekend. This dance included 6 dances where each Dancer Relations captain from each year did their line dance to their respective year. This was the most heartwarming and the greatest dance to end the weekend.
