“You Are the Right One” - Sports

My new favorite song this week is “You Are the Right One” by Sports. Released in 2015, the synth heavy tune focuses on the feeling you get when you connect with a person who truly sees you.

The electronic synths in combination with the seductive tone of voice create an ambient sound unlike any other typical indie rock song. The slow pace of the drums only adds to the funky groove of the beat.

Compared to other songs in their genre, there are fewer lyrics because of the artist's choice to focus on the melodies and overall atmosphere of the world.

If you like artists such as Blood Orange, Beach House or Cigarettes After Sex this is definitely up your alley. I would describe the tone as looking across the room at someone and making flirty eye contact.

The production quality and rhythm make this song extremely addictive to listen to, and it is officially added to my summer nights playlist. - Allison Curley
