Weekly Playlist "Give You The World" - Steve Lacy

By Noah Vickery

Now that it is officially 2025, that means it has been three years since Steve Lacy has released any new music! His most recent album Gemini Rights from 2022 is where the song “Give You the World” comes from.

This song is very slow, groovy and heartfelt, making it easy to have on repeat. The song feels inspired by jazz and soul music from the 70s.

Steve is begging for forgiveness in this song, and as the title states, claiming that he will “give them the world.” It is always nice to hear artists open up in their work.

The high notes are a big part of what makes this track so addicting. The way Steve delivers the line “If you want me to” is particularly satisfying. The delivery on this song really stands out.

While this song admittedly might seem a bit “weird” at first listen, there is actually much to love about it. Hopefully Steve Lacy will release some new music in 2025!
