“Read My Mind” - The Killers
Every year, when summer comes back, so do a great number of “oldies” in my playlists. Recently, I have been drawn back to bands like The Killers, The Cure and The Rolling Stones, which give the adventurous and free tone that summer brings out.
I know that “Read My Mind” by The Killers is certainly one song I will be playing over and over again for the next few months.
This track can make you feel spirited, like a music festival would or encourage euphoric feelings like joyous memories do. Personally, I love listening to this song when I am on a run because it is full of so much serotonin and fulfilling emotions.
I really enjoy the calming voice that The Killers’ lead singer, Brandon Flowers, has and how he always manages to make it sound as if it is being performed in front of a crowd.
Of Course, we hear hits like "Mr. Brightside" and "Somebody Told Me" all the time, but it is about time to stop slacking on the other great records that The Killers produced. This song brings back nostalgic company for older generations and I am sure it will do the same for me as I grow up. I will always associate this song with a high euphoric emotion in the best way possible. So if you ever need to break out of any negative feelings, tune into "Read My Mind" by The Killers. - Jessica Goldstein

“Chest Pain (I Love)” - Malcolm Todd
As finals week is upon me, I am thinking about the music that I have been listening to most throughout this semester. The artist that I have discovered and come to enjoy the most has definitely been Malcolm Todd.
Malcolm Todd has many songs that I have fallen in love with, but his most popular is “Chest Pain (I Love).” This song went pretty viral on TikTok and is easy to put on for many moods and settings.
He very recently released a super cool music video for the song, which has many references to The Notebook.
Malcolm is going on a tour throughout much of the summer, and I have been looking at tickets in hopes that I can possibly go see him live.
I have absolutely found myself going back to this song consistently throughout the semester, and I imagine that I will continue to do so throughout the rest of the year. - Noah Vickery
