UPUA and Penn State library collaborate to extend library hours during finals week

By Trip Tagle

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Extended hours are being implemented for the Pattee and Paterno Library schedules as finals encroach, due to a collaborative effort between Penn State University Libraries and the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA).

“We are excited to announce that, through the end of this semester, we are able to extend our Pattee Library and Paterno Library Sunday through Thursday operating hours to 2 a.m. to enable students at University Park to spend more time with the University Libraries’ spaces, services and resources,” said Rebecca Waltz, the university’s associate dean for learning and engagement, as stated in a Penn State press release.

The extended hours will look to provide Penn Staters with more flexibility as they tackle the challenges of an academic year coming to a close.

“The UPUA firmly believes that expanding access to the Libraries, whether in longer hours or creative resources, continues to be essential for students’ academic success,” said Dawson Glogau, a UPUA representative.

The new extended-hours schedule kicks into effect next week on April 27 up until May 1, and then again from May 4 to May 8.
