UEFA Champions League Quarter Final reaction
The UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals have come to an end and a lot of people are shocked and surprised at the results of the games.
One of the biggest shockers was Arsenal beating Real Madrid 5-1 on aggregate. Especially beating them 3-0 in the first leg at home.
The man of the match was a player that not many fans expected was Declan Rice, who had an unbelievable game.
He scored two goals in the first leg, and both of them were free kicks, which nobody thought he could score on either of them. They were some of the best goals of the entire season.
And even after Arsenal beat Real Madrid on their home ground in the first leg, a lot of people were still unsure if they would be able to continue their form in the second leg, especially going all the way to Spain to play at the home of Real Madrid.
But not only were they able to perform in the second leg in Spain, they were able to beat Real Madrid 2-1 and secure a spot in the semifinals of the Champions League.
Another result that shocked a lot of people was Inter Milan beating Bayern Munich. Even though the two teams tied in the second leg, Inter Milan got the big win away from home in the first leg to secure their spot in the semifinals.
Bayern Munich even thought that they were going to tie the first leg, but a late goal from Davide Frattesi in the 88th minute secured the win for Inter Milan.
Another quarterfinal that took place was Barcelona against Borussia Dortmund. Barcelona took advantage of being at home in the first leg, beating Dortmund four goals to nil, with Raphina getting a goal and two assists in the match.
Even though Barcelona lost the second leg of the quarterfinal, it wasn’t enough for Dortmund to move on, as Barcelona will go on to the semifinal to face Inter Milan.
And the final quarterfinal match of the four games was between PSG and Aston Villa. Aston Villa came in as underdogs for both legs of the tie, and PSG showed their dominance that we’ve seen from them all season long.
Aston Villa did take a one-goal lead in the first leg, but it only lasted four minutes after PSG responded perfectly and went on to score three unanswered to win by a final score of 3-1.
And was very similar in the second leg as PSG scored the two first goals of the game, but then gave up three unanswered and did in fact lose to Aston Villa away from home, but still, it was not enough for Aston Villa to move on and PSG will go onto face Arsenal in the semifinals.
The UEFA Champions League semi-finals will begin on April 29 and April 30, and all soccer fans and even many sports fans will be tuning in to watch some of the greatest teams in soccer face off for a chance to play in the UEFA Champions League Final.
