Top 5 Draymond Green crashouts

By Owen Daszko

Draymond Green is a character on the basketball court, receiving technical fouls after chirping with officials, committing flagrant fouls, and instigating some fights in his career.

Let’s list some of Green’s scrappiest moments throughout his 12-year NBA career.

No. 5: Cavs vs Warriors Finals

Oh, yes, Warriors fans remember it vividly. Draymond losing his footing in Game 4 of the 2016 NBA Finals and Lebron standing over him as he gets up.

Green is already an instigator, so you can predict he wouldn’t let James’ actions slide. Well, I guess he did since he slid right off the court into a one-game suspension, costing the Warriors the series.

The Warriors and he still captured four rings, however, that season still stings.

No. 4: Give me a hug

Hello, Bradley Beal, why are you grabbing around my neck? Oh, you want a hug? Here you go!

Prime Draymond didn’t mess around. Green’s jersey was ripped to shreds, and his heart was beating rapidly out of his chest. Beal didn’t know what he was getting himself into.

One thing Draymond isn’t afraid of is a fine.

No. 3: Stomp, stomp!

Game 2 of the 2023 NBA playoffs' first round, Draymond’s leg gets grabbed by Kings center Domantas Sabonis. We can all guess what happens next.

Flagrant two foul on Green and he’s ejected from another critical game. Green used Sabonis as a trampoline and I don’t blame the Kings if that situation escalated any further.

I know Sabonis was an annoyance during that entire playoff series, but I think stepping on his chest might just be a little excessive.

No. 2: “My nuts!”

This is another iconic Draymond moment and Steven Adams was one of Green’s earliest victims in the 2016 Western Conference Finals.

It definitely looked like it hurt and I don’t think Adams was expecting a kick to the nuts during a basketball game.

The foul on the floor was against Steven Adams, too, which makes it even worse for what Adams had to sacrifice.

No. 1: WWE final boss Draymond

This has to be one of the funniest moments of all time. Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels get chippy to start the game. However, pushing and shoving isn’t enough.

And his name is Draymond Green, Rudy Gobert is defenseless, Green is choking him out in a headlock. What is Draymond doing?

The entire Warriors coaching staff, including head coach Steve Kerr, had to get involved, attempting to tell Green to let go.

I don’t think there was anything stopping Green, but choking someone out midgame isn’t something I thought I would see in my life watching basketball.

Draymond has been one of the scrappiest players in the NBA throughout his career, however, he is still one of the best defenders of this modern era. His physicality is a reason this Warriors team over the last decade has been so dominant.

I would’ve loved to see him play in previous eras when players were able to get away with a lot more physicality.
