
The Frozen Confines: Penn State to play Notre Dame outdoors on Jan. 3
Penn State men’s hockey will take on Notre Dame in the inaugural Frozen Confines on Jan. 3 at Wrigley Field.
The series, announced on Aug. 15 by Big Ten Commissioner Tony Pettiti and Chicago Cubs President of Business Operations Crane Kenny, will begin on Dec. 31 with the hometown Chicago Blackhawks hosting the St. Louis Blues.
The Nittany Lions and Fighting Irish will kick off the collegiate games, then Ohio State and Michigan will follow on Jan. 3.
On Jan. 4, the Ohio State women’s team will play Wisconsin, a rematch of the last two years’ championship games. Then, the Wisconsin and Michigan State men will round the games out later in the day.
Penn State men’s hockey season ticket holders can participate in a pre-sale starting Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. and concluding on Aug. 29 at 11 p.m. EST. Alumni, donors and non-hockey season ticket holders will have pre-sale access on Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. EST.
Sale to the general public will begin on Aug. 30 at 11 a.m.
Discounted ticket information for students will be announced at a later date, per Penn State men’s hockey.
