The best Jameis Winston quotes and moments
Jameis Winston has quickly become one of the most likable players in the entire NFL because of his weirdly funny quotes and inspirational messages to his teammates.
It really starts off with his time at Florida State. He was one of the best players in the entire country and ended up going No. 1 in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Winston was suspended for the entirety of the matchup against Clemson for saying some not-nice things on campus.
When a player gets suspended, they typically don’t dress for the game and warm up. However, Jameis is not your typical player.
He went out on the field fully dressed and was warming up as if he was going to play despite fully knowing that he was suspended for the game.
Now, here are some of the incredible and inspirational quotes from his great career.
“I said, ‘Are you strong?’ They said, ‘I’m strong if you strong.’ Then I said, “We strong then.”
What an incredible moment to kick off his legendary career on the microphone before the game and after the game. A great way to prep his team before the national championship is to really let the team know that they are all in this together.
It only gets better from here.
“That’s a W, let’s eat one. Let’s eat one.”
Winston made the now signature W with his hands and made the motion of eating his hand.
This one instantly became legendary because of the randomness of it. It also signifies what every play should want. The hunger of getting a win and when the win is in front of you, you eat it. The meaning behind it is actually perfect and should’ve pumped every player up.
“I thought [Bruce Arians] was black”
This one might be one of the best ones because of the context behind it. First, you’re a quarterback in the NFL and needed Lasik eye surgery. That may be the first sign of something going wrong.
Now to the quote, Bruce Arians is a bald white guy. So, if he was being serious that’s a massive problem for a starting quarterback. Good thing he got it fixed when he did.
“1, 2, 3 and to the 4. The Bucs Q’s and C’s coming out that door. Now we don’t know how to do these rhymes, we know about pancake blocks and throwing dimes.”
Now Jameis is spitting bars with an inspirational quote. He was trying to hype up his Tampa Bay Buccaneer teammates prior to a game. If my quarterback said this before a game I would be fired up to see those pancake blocks and dimes being thrown.
An incredible line from one of the best quarterbacks on the mic, this one might just be one of the best.
“There’s a white boy from Detroit that I really admire… named Eminem… he said you only get one shot do not miss your chance to blow it”
Well, not quite how the line goes but you get the point across Jameis. The fact he decided to quote the legendary Eminem in one of the most famous songs of all time after securing a win in one of his first games playing as a Cleveland Brown is just a perfect Jameis Winston moment.
His time in Cleveland has been really short but he has given the people a whole lot of incredible quotes.
“I rally the troops because we’re about to go to war.”
The broadcasts have gifted the audience a chance to hear greatness when they’ve interviewed Winston prior to games. He looks so locked in when he’s talking, that you really just want to go to war with him.
After a long interview with Nate Burleson the way he ended it with this quote is just pure locked in, ready to go and that’s how a quarterback should be.
“Represent the names on your back, represent the names on your helmet… well we don’t go no decal, so represent the Browns.”
If you’re trying to hype up your team, I’m not sure if getting them to laugh is the best way to go about it but this came so naturally that it didn’t even seem intended.
He was in the midst of giving a really good inspirational speech prior to the team running onto the field and got sidetracked because the Browns don’t have a logo on their helmet.
“You can’t say the sky’s the limit when people are on the moon.”
This is just incredible, and he’s right the limit should essentially be higher than the sky. Nobody has ever thought that deeply about sayings but leave it to Winston to really think deeply about a very good saying.
So with this new information, should the limit be the moon? The moon is the limit obviously doesn’t sound as good but if he starts using it then it will really get picked up a lot.
After doing a deep dive into Winston’s most memorable quotes and moments of his great career there is just one thing that I want to say, never change Jameis Winston, never change.
