Singles Roundup: Oct. 7

Singles Round Up – The Arts and Entertainment Department takes a look at some of the recently released singles from the past week.

“What This Could Be” - Joe Jonas

Every 2000s girl knows Joe Jonas as Shane Gray from the “Camp Rock” franchise. As a musician, Joe wears many different hats. He is a member of the boyband the Jonas Brothers, lead singer of DNCE and a solo artist.

Joe has only released one individual album to date titled “Fastlife” which was released in 2011. Earlier this year, Joe did have a single collaboration with Julia Michaels and Alan Walker but “What This Could Be” is the first solo single.

The song itself was beautiful. Everything from the lyrics to the instrumentation was well done.

The line “I'd give up my peace of mind to lose my mind again with you” is so simple yet says so much. The entirety of the piece is about the “what ifs” in a relationship.

Fans know that Joe has had some rough relationships in the past and this song just highlights the fact he was “making mistakes more than a few.”

Simple. Delightful. Highly recommend a listen. The official lyric video of “What This Could Be” is the best way to listen. Just saying!
