“Head Down” - Cher Lloyd
Cher Lloyd is an English singer, rapper, and songwriter. She originally gained recognition as a contestant on the X Factor. Though she came in fourth, Simon Cowell signed her to his label, Syco Music.
She released her freshman album, “Sticks and Stones.” The album featured “Swagger Jagger” which reached number one on the U.K.’s singles chart. It not only debuted highly in the U.K. but across the world.
Cher’s newest single, “Head Down” is her first release in four years. Her most recent song is “Baddest,” a collaboration with Imanbek.
“Head Down” has a personal message. Cher struggled with record labels and haters most of her career which can be recognized via her lyrics. For example, “All the people who ignored me/Will soon be sat in rows, and they'll applaud me.”
Furthermore, the production was done well. It is simple, effective and catchy. The only caveat was that it didn’t stand out in any way; it was just mediocre.
Overall, this was a smashing single. Cher is now an independent artist and would probably appreciate a listen so go check out “Head Down!”
