“BONGOS”- Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion

When it comes to making hit rap songs, there isn’t a more fun duo than Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.

The two rappers announced earlier last week that they would release a Friday song titled “BONGOS.” Considering their last collaboration, “WAP” wasn’t just a mega-hit but a cultural moment, expectations were high.

“BONGOS” might not be as jaw-dropping and iconic as “WAP,” but what could be? It isn’t fair to hold the successful “BONGOS” predecessor against this fun and lively track.

The song is high energy and is what fans of either artist should want and expect.

Megan Thee Stallion is a better rapper than Cardi B, but the two play off each other well. The highlight of the song is when the two have a call-and-response moment during the bridge.

Expect to hear “BONGOS” at a party and expect it to get the people going. It’s fun to dance to and a good addition to both artists’ discography. – Sophia D’Ovidio

“Think I’m In Love With You” - Chris Stapleton

“Tennesse Whiskey” singer Chris Stapelton released his single “Think I’m In Love With You” on Friday, building anticipation for his upcoming album, “Higher.”

The track starts with a basic backbeat and some twangy guitar chords, which continue throughout the song until the second verse, where a string and piano combo replaces the guitar.

The country singer’s focus for the song, falling in love, is reflected in the uptempo beats of the instrumental and, of course, the repetition of the words “think I’m in love with you” throughout its entirety.

As far as Stapleton's songs go, his discography reflects a fondness for long notes and a slower tempo, but “Think I’m In Love With You” keeps his hopeful lyrics and puts it on top of a foot-tapping melody that can be listened to at any time.

The listening versatility of the single, despite its surface-level lyrics, proves promising for Stapleton’s November release of “Higher.” – Megan Kelby
