“December 25th” - Charlie Puth

This week’s single is “December 25th” by Charlie Puth. Puth is a talented singer-songwriter. His first big hit was “See You Again” featuring Wiz Khalifa which gained fame in “Fast & Furious 7.”

The world has been in desperate need of a new Christmas song. There have been a few in recent years, but nothing iconic. Sadly, neither is this one.

Don’t get it wrong, this song is a nice Christmas song, but it isn’t unique enough. It is actually reminiscent of the classic, “Last Christmas” by Wham!

Puth’s approach was on the side of a “Blue Christmas,” but don’t let that be deterring.

“December 25th” is a very catchy and rhythmic single. The only issue is that it’s too repetitive. The verses are practically drowned out because they are so similar to the chorus.

The simplicity of a song tends to be underrated. Songs, especially ones about the holidays, do not need all the bells and whistles. Charlie Puth does an amazing job of utilizing only vocals and a backtrack.

“December 25th” was an entertaining listen and it will definitely get people into the holiday spirit! Go check it out on all streaming platforms now!
