Singles Round Up: March 4
Singles Round Up – The Arts and Entertainment Department takes a look at some of the recently released singles from the past week.
“Make A Baby” - Jesse McCartney ft. Yung Gravy
Jesse McCartney, a former teenage heartthrob, and Yung Gravy, a current womanizer, have graced the world with a new song. “Make A Baby” is exactly what it sounds like; it’s about making a baby.
The contrast between Gravy’s verses about passion and McCartney’s chorus of romance is comedic. This single has a smooth vibe, but the lyrics are another story.
The specific set of lines that makes this song most cringe is “I want it all, it’s tasty/I eat it up like pastry.” The majority of the lines have an A-B rhyme scheme, but they’re of poor quality.
Additionally, the production backbeat is pretty good, but it’s also very basic. Only a keyboard is played with electronic reverbs. It sounds just like any other McCartney or Gravy song.
While not a favorite, the track deserves at least a quick listen. This single will later be released as a part of McCartney’s new EP, “All’s Well” on February 5th. Go check it out!
