“Dancing With The Stars” Season 32 Episode 8
The celebrities and their pro partners danced to iconic songs for week eight of “Dancing With The Stars” as they honored singer and actress Whitney Houston for “Whitney Houston Night.”
Superstar actor and singer Billy Porter joined the panel for the night as a guest judge, and he did not hold back with his critiques.
First to dance a Viennese waltz was Harry Jowsey and his partner Rylee Arnold. The pair got sevens across the panel, once again landing them at the bottom of the leaderboard.
Xochitl Gomez and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy danced a flawless tango to “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.” They earned a perfect score from each judge, making them the first individual couple to get a perfect score in the competition.
The second round of competition for “Whitney Houston Night” was the dance-off round, where Ariana Madix and her partner Pasha Pashkov were immune from competing in. The dance-off round gave three bonus points to each winner’s score.
Jowsey and Arnold danced a rumba against Alyson Hannigan and Sasha Farber. By no surprise, Hannigan was chosen as the first winner. Porter told Jowsey what everyone has been thinking: to “not just be like a tree trunk for [Rylee] to use and abuse.”
Barry Williams and his partner Peta Murgatroyd were up next, going head-to-head with Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach dancing a salsa. Deservingly, Williams won the three bonus points.
The last dance-off was a cha-cha routine with Gomez and her partner going up against Charity Lawson and Artem Chigvintzev. The judges chose Lawson as the final winner of the dance-off, awarding her and her partner the bonus points.
At the end of the episode, fans were shocked yet again to learn that Jowsey and Arnold were safe, and they looked shocked themselves.
Unfortunately, even after landing fifth on the leaderboard, Williams was eliminated. However, it was nice to watch someone older progress so far in the competition.
Calling all Swifties: week nine on “Dancing With The Stars” will celebrate the discography of the one and only Taylor Swift for the show’s first ever “Taylor Swift Night,” so be sure to tune in during Thanksgiving week.
