Ranking Every Drop Spot in Fortnite OG Season 2: Worst to Best

By Sketch Morton

Epic Games dropped Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 2 across gaming platforms, and with it comes the return of the Season 2 map, a fan-favorite version among the community.

The drop spot is a pivotal aspect of every battle royale, and Fortnite offers many fantastic locations, each unique with its own personality, logistics, and theme.

Fortnite’s Season 2 map features some of the most memorable locations in Fortnite history, with some reaching hyper-popularity status due to their intense action or spirited identities, while other locations, not so much.

18. Flush Factory

Sometimes, the road less traveled is less traveled for a reason. It’s easy to forget that Flush Factory even exists as a destination on the map. It’s boring, rarely rewarding, and tucked away in the corner.

17. Wailing Woods

As one of the most secluded locations in Fortnite, Wailing Woods is typically a haven for players trying to avoid violence right at the start. But in the pursuit of wooded refuge, players sacrifice the advantage of securing good loot.

16. Dusty Depot

The famed depot provides just three warehouses, limiting the amount of available loot. On the bright side, one positive of this location is that it rests in the center of the map, meaning players should have no trouble finding safety from the storm when landing at Dusty Depot.

15. Tomato Town

Placing Tomato Town this low may be controversial, but the amount of loot to be found here simply doesn't size up to the amount of people drop here. This location has the reputation and popularity that outweighs the amount of loot spawns.

14. Moisty Mire

What many would consider to be the weakest landing spot in Fortnite, Moisty Mire, is, by far, the largest area on the map, and perhaps the least visited. This spot really shines for solo players, as there may be a good chance you’re the only player to land there in the whole lobby.

13. Lonely Lodge

Much like Wailing Woods, players seldom visit Lonely Lodge, and there’s a good chance you’ll ride solo if you venture here.

12. Anarchy Acres

Anarchy Acres features enough loot to service a small squad or a solo run, but there simply is not enough resources here to validate the popularity of the location.

11. Fatal Fields

Fatal Fields shares the same issues as the acres up north, but Fatal has just a bit more places to rummage through for loot.

10. Salty Springs

The suburban locale of Salty Springs provides a deceiving persona of misplaced tranquility, but look a little deeper and you’ll find one of the more dangerous places to land in Fortnite.

While not reaching Tilted Towers or Pleasant Park traffic levels, Salty Springs only offers a few houses as hiding spots while acting as the drop spot for many rival squads.

9. Loot Lake

Loot Lake is a fan favorite, and offers an exciting king-of-the-hill type challenge for players seeking refuge in the house upon the lone island.

The Lake inspires instant brutality, pinning players against each other in a completely open space, while offering good spots for loot and chests on the outsides of the water.

8. Snobby Shores

Resting on the West coast of the map, Snobby Shores features five large-sized houses with each offering a sizable load of loot.

While providing a reliable loadout right off the bat, the problem lies in that outside of these houses, there are relatively no places to hide, so players will be pinned against each other in a deathmatch to decide who survives the shores.

7. Greasy Grove

A few houses and the iconic burger shop make Greasy Grove a reliable drop spot for players looking to grab some quick and easy loot while not shying away from confrontation.

Being a popular landing spot for large squads, if you aren’t lucky enough to get dibs on one of these houses or the chests inside the burger shop, you’ll be at the mercy of those who are so lucky.

6. Shifty Shafts

Shifty Shafts is one of Fortnite's most fun and exciting places to land. The underground hideaways and the complicated layout of the area can inspire fun strategy while in combat. Plus, If you know where to look, you’ll find a decent loadout if you can survive the few people that will land here.

5. Haunted Hills

Season 2 of Fortnite introduced several areas that would become favorites among the Fortnite community. Haunted Hills quickly became one of the most beloved drop spots among fans due to its spooky and ghostly nature while offering an abundance of chests to be found.

4. Junk Junction

Junk Junction may be the No. 1 solo drop in the entire game. If there’s any destination that encourages strategic and calculated combat, it’s the playground-like layout of Junk Junction.

The abundance of the crates will help players defend themselves against those with better loadouts, while scattering chests around the junkyard as well.

3. Retail Row

The old reliable of squad drop spots, the suburban neighborhood of Retail Row offers a lively combination of chests, loot spawns, houses, all in a spread-out layout that inspires skill-based action.

2. Tilted Towers

This is what Fortnite is all about after all. Tilted Towers acts as its own battle royale inside of a battle royale. If you’re brave enough to land here, there’s a good chance you’ll be dropping alongside a quarter of the lobby.

Detroit Pistons Hall of Fame coach Chuck Daly once said, “When you play against the Boston Celtics, they bring out the best in you and the worst in you. They make you a better person and a better player if you’re going to go through them.”

That exact quote could be used to describe landing at Tilted Towers.

1. Pleasant Park

Somewhere in between the relaxed suburbs of Retail Row and the dense urban structure of Tilted Towers lies Pleasant Park. Introduced in Fortnite Season 1, Pleasant Park offers the perfect hub for combat. A perimeter of houses surrounds a town square, complete with a soccer field and a pavilion. Land at one of the houses emerge with your loadout, and the action begins.
