Presidential Election: Donald Trump wins presidency
After a historical lead-up to the Presidential election between former president Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump took the election earning 277 of the electoral votes to Harris’s 226.
While not all votes have been counted Trump surpassed the required 270 electoral votes to win.
Both candidates focus during the last few weeks leading up to the election where key swing states.
While three of the seven swing states have yet to be confirmed Trump was able to secure Wisconsin, Georgia, Pennsylvania and North Carolina which pushed him over the top during the morning hours.
In comparison to the 2020 election, Harris failed to win the vote in many counties that President Joe Biden was able to win in 2020.
Harris also failed to get the vote from women, minorities, and first-time voters which she was expected to get.
President Biden will continue his presidency until Trump takes over the white house in January.
