Trump vs. Kamala

Presidental Debate Wrap

By Gavin McCue

It was one of the most anticipated presidential debates in history. Last night Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump squared off in Philadelphia.

This was the first time the candidates had squared off face to face and people were anticipating a fiery debate.

Everyone was curious to see how prepared Kamala Harris was, after just joining the race over the summer and how Trump would handle certain topics such as abortion and the Jan. 6 attacks on the capitol building.

The debate was intense throughout, with both candidates taking shots at each other over many topics, one being immigration. At one point Trump stabbed at Kamala, “In Springfield, they are eating the dogs the people that came in, they're eating the cats they're eating, they're eating the pets of the people that live there.”

The tension we all expected was there as both nominees did not make eye contact with each other at all and former President Trump told his opponent to stop interrupting him multiple times. “Wait a minute I’m talking now. If you don't mind, please. Does that sound familiar?”

Throughout the debate, Kamala did get very heated especially over abortion almost to the point where she was yelling.

The Harris campaign has challenged Donald Trump to a second debate but it hasn't been confirmed on whether or not he has accepted.
