By Bronwyn Liber

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Penn State Wrestling team has revealed their 2024-25 schedule. Preseason has them as the No. 1-ranked team as they begin a quest for another national championship. The team is coming off their third consecutive NCAA Championship, gaining individual titles at four different weight classes.

The Nittany Lions will open the season on Nov. 16 by hosting the NWCA All-Star Classic exhibition, which is expected to have six Nittany Lion appearances.

The season will officially begin the following day on Nov. 17. The Blue and White will continue action in Rec Hall where all weight classes will officially start as they welcome Drexel.

The following non-conference matches include the following:

Sun. Nov. 24 Army Black Knight Invitational, West Point, N.Y. - (10 a.m.)

Sun. Dec. 8 at No. 13 Lehigh, Bethlehem, Pa. - (2 p.m.)

Sun. Dec. 15 vs. No. 23 (tied) Wyoming, Rec Hall - (1 p.m.)

Sun. Dec. 22 Journeymen Collegiate Duals, Nashville, Tenn.

Vs. Binghamton - (3 p.m.)

Vs. Arkansas-Little Rock - (5 p.m.)

Vs. No. 7 Missouri - (7 p.m.)

The team will then travel home to start the new year with their first Big Ten conference dual. This matchup will be against the Michigan State Spartans, who the Nittany Lions shut out 35-0 last season.

Following this Penn State faces a major match-up on the road vs. Nebraska. This will be the Nittany Lions' first real test of the season, as the Blue and White only won by nine last season at home against the Cornhuskers, this was their closest dual by score. They then will remain on the road to face No. 20 Rutgers.

Penn State will then return for back-to-back BJC Duals as the team faces No. 2 Iowa and then No. 9 Michigan. Last year’s BJC dual awarded the Nittany Lions their 1000th program win in history. Falling this Penn State continues one more week at home as they return to Rec Hall to face Maryland for their final home dual of the conference season.

There are then two roach duals as Penn State will first face No. 5 Ohio State and then No. 23 (tied) Illinois to end their conference schedule.

Before the postseason begins, the Nittany Lions will have one last hoo-rah as they welcome Americans for a final goodbye to their season in Rec Hall.

From March 8-9, defending Big Ten Tournament champion Penn State will aim for its ninth Big Ten Tournament title under coach Cael Sanderson.

The Nittany Lions will then search for once more an undefeated season throughout this roster of teams, and then look to replicate their postseason appearance to last year's outcome in hopes of bringing home a fourth straight National Championship.
