For the second time in four weeks, the Nittany Lions have swept the Big Ten Player of the Week awards.

On Tuesday, Peter Mangione and Kris Shakes were named the Big Ten Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, while the blue and white returned to rankings coming at No. 25.

Mangione made two appearances last week, scoring the game's lone goal against the University of Maryland. The Senior followed up that performance with an assist in Penn State's 2-0 win over UNC Greensboro.

Shakes made two appearances last week, making five saves against the University of Maryland, which were critical in the team's 1-0 victory. The fifth-year followed that up with a two-save performance against UNC Greensboro to record his 18th career clean sheet as the Nittany Lions won 2-0.

For Shakes, this is the third time this season that he has been named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.

Next up for Mangione and Shakes, alongside the rest of the Nittany Lions, is a match against Howard University at Jeffrey Field on Wednesday, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
