UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – This Thursday, the Penn State women’s basketball team will be hosting the inaugural WBIT invitational tournament. They will play George Mason in the first round of the tournament and the Nittany Lions are excited to support the Lady Lions. A First-year student majoring in Kinesiology, Macie Rascoll, shares her support for the Lady Lions and what she thinks about them getting the top seed.

“I’ve always been a supporter of the women’s basketball team,” Rascoll said. “I'm super excited to see them as the number one seed in this tournament and I think they are going to dominate against George Mason this Thursday.”

Hopefully, domination is what is to come this Thursday, seeing that George Mason is unranked in Women’s Basketball. Even though Penn State didn’t make the NCAA tournament this year in March Madness, the Lady Lions still had an outstanding season, ending 27th in the NCAA rankings. But in this tournament, as mentioned previously, the blue and white are ranked the number one seed, which is a huge accomplishment, with this being the first-ever WBIT. First-year student majoring in Political Science Dawson Glogau shares his thoughts about the WBIT coming to Penn State.

“I think it is really cool that this tournament is coming to the Happy Valley,” Glogau said. “Our women’s basketball team is absolutely incredible.”

If you want to support our Lady Lions, head down to the BJC at 6 p.m. this Thursday and the first 100 students to show up get free student tickets.
