Andrew Cooke

The Penn State men’s soccer team added its first transfer on Thursday afternoon, landing goalkeeper Andrew Cooke from Colgate University.

Cooke made 40 appearances, including 38 starts for the Raiders over the past four years, putting up some impressively stellar stats, including a .699 save percentage, 123 saves, eight clean sheets and a 1.35 goals-against average.

The Ohio native helped Colgate advance to the Patriot League Tournament in 2022 and 2023 while also being named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week three times.

"We look forward to welcoming Andrew to Penn State; he is a highly experienced goalkeeper who had great success at Colgate, ” head coach Jeff Cook said in a press release. “Andrew brings a great presence in goal. He is very effective at dealing with crosses, and we are looking forward to adding his talent and leadership to our men's soccer program."

Cooke is set to join the Nittany Lions in January after graduating from Colgate in December and is set to compete to be the starting goalkeeper following Kris Shakes and Owen Elliott running out of eligibility.
