Penn State men's soccer adds a goalkeeper to its 2024 class
The Penn State men’s soccer team added another commitment to its 2024 class, adding goalkeeper Jonathan Evans.
Evans has spent the last six years in the Philadelphia Union Academy, where he helped the squad win several trophies, including the 2023 U17 Generation Adidas Cup, the 2022 U17 Championship and the 2019 CONCACAF Championship at the U13 level.
In addition, he helped the team to the 2021 U15 MLS Next Cup Finals.
The Pennsylvania native also has experience training with the Union II team in the MLS Next Pro League.
"Jonathan is a goalkeeper from the Philadelphia Union Academy who we have seen develop greatly over the last couple of years as we recruited him,” head coach Jeff Cook said in a press release. “We feel he has excellent potential and can come into our program and elevate the overall depth and quality of our goalkeeping position."
Evans is expected to arrive in Happy Valley this fall.
