Penn State men's hockey recruiting recap: Day 3
Penn State men’s hockey is expected to have rounded out its 2024-25 recruiting class on June 5 with three players. Here are the tentative final additions to the new class in Hockey Valley.
Braedon Ford (Forward, Des Moines Buccaneers – USHL)
Ford spent the last two seasons with the Des Moines Buccaneers, totaling 30 points in 100 games for the team.
He was originally committed to Miami University (Ohio) and joined a long line of flipped commits to this new Penn State team.
The Pittsburgh native will bring a high-speed style of play and accurate passing to the squad.
Jason Gallucci (Defenseman, Green Bay Gamblers – USHL)
A left-handed defenseman from New Jersey, Gallucci has spent time with the Coquitlam Express (BCHL) and the Green Bay Gamblers.
Gallucci was the first defenseman selected in the 2023 Phase 2 USHL Draft. He brought more offensive power in Coquitlam but was a crucial part of Green Bay’s defense, spending a lot of time on the first defensive pairing.
With the losses of Tanner Palocsik, Gallucci, among other incoming blueliners, will work to fill the absence.
John Seifarth (Goaltender, Penn State Ice Lions – ACHA)
Seifarth joins Noah Grannan and Arsenii Sergeev on the roster, becoming the third goalie in the tandem.
It could be assumed that Seifarth will slide into the third goalie role, but he had a good year for the Penn State Ice Lions club team. Seifarth had a .907 save percentage and a 3.25 goals-against average in 11 games for the Ice Lions, and rostering him is a smart move.
