Penn State in the NFL: Week 4

Week four in the NFL was a mix between blowout decisions and close, tension-filled matchups.
Former Penn Staters were key contributors in matchups by producing highlights that have the Nittany Lion faithful buzzing around regardless of NFL fandom.
Here’s a look around the league to see how they fared.
Jahan Dotson, WR, Washington Commanders
The divisional matchup between the Commanders and the Eagles nearly handed Philadelphia its first loss of the year at home, but in overtime, Washington ended up facing defeat.
However, for Dotson, his touchdown catch couldn’t have come at a better time. With two seconds left in the game, the 2022 first-round pick caught the ball in traffic in the corner of the endzone.
Three defenders in the vicinity attempted to pry the ball away, but the TD pass was complete and exactly what the Commanders needed to tie the game and send it to overtime.
In total, Dotson finished with four receptions for 27 yards.
Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
After Mike Evans suffered a hamstring injury, Godwin became Baker Mayfield’s top target in a 26-9 victory over the New Orleans Saints.
While the wide receiver is yet to record a touchdown this season, his explosive nature and yards after the catch set up opportunities for the team.
In the fourth quarter, a seven-yard catch would’ve been enough for a first down, but the speed he curated after possessing the ball translated to a 42-yard Buccaneer gain.
His eight receptions were the most Godwin’s had all reason, and it was the first time he crossed the triple-digit yardage mark with 114.
Micah Parsons, LB, Dallas Cowboys
For the first time all season, Parsons failed to record a sack in what was a defensive bounce back and 38-3 dismantling of the New England Patriots.
Parsons appeared to battle in the early stages of the game but returned to action nonetheless. In the blowout victory that also showcased two defensive touchdowns, the linebacker recorded two tackles and one tackle for a loss.
