Week three of the NFL brought several high-scoring matchups with former Nittany Lions on both sides of the win and loss columns.

Here’s a recap of what some Penn Staters did this past weekend:

Pat Freirmuth, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers

Offensive questions lingered as the Steelers traveled to Las Vegas to take on Jimmy Garapolo and the Raiders; however, despite a comeback attempt by the silver and black in the fourth quarter, Pittsburgh traveled home with the win.

Freiermuth went for 41 yards with one touchdown on just three receptions. Kenny Pickett connected with the Penn Stater in the endzone with just under four minutes to go in the third quarter.

This was Freiermuth’s second touchdown of the season, but his best performance overall this season.

Brenton Strange, TE, Jacksonville Jaguars

After being selected in the second round, Strange made his NFL debut in the Jaguars’ week three loss to the Houston Texans.

He had two receptions on two targets for only seven yards, but it will be interesting to see how Strange fits into Jacksonville’s offensive scheme down the line.

Miles Sanders, RB, Carolina Panthers

With an injured Bryce Young, Andy Dalton was under center for the Panthers in their 37-27 road loss to the Seahawks.

On the first play of the fourth quarter, Sanders rushed from the one-yard line to score his first touchdown while wearing the Carolina blue, putting the Panthers within one score of Seattle. However, the Seahawks continued to score to pack Carolina away and win the contest.

Sanders finished with 24 yards on the ground and 38 through the air on five receptions.

Adrian Amos, S, New York Jets

The Jets’ defense struggled against the New England Patriots, where they lost for the 15th consecutive time, but Amos was a bright spot.

Of his seven tackles, six of them were solo; additionally, he also defended a pass at a crucial time.

Amos stepped up in lieu of some other team absences, but the Jets’ offense couldn’t get anything going, so the defense was left on the field for most of the game and tired quickly.
