By Joshua Bartosik

Former UConn goaltender Arsenii Sergeev announced he's transferring to Penn State on Tuesday morning via Instagram.

The sophomore and seventh-round draft pick of the Calgary Flames had a 2.70 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage in 16 games played for the Huskies this past season.

Originally from Yaroslavl, Russia, Sergeev spent one year with the Tri-City Storm in the USHL, posting a 2.25 goals-against average and .913 save percentage, earning him a First All-Star Team nomination and USHL Goaltender of the Year.

The 6-foot-3 netminder comes in with two years of eligibility left and will compete with fellow sophomore Noah Grannan for the starting role following the departure of Liam Souliere.
