Penn State changes buying process for student football tickets for 2024 season
The process to obtain student season football tickets will look a little different for the upcoming season. Penn State Athletics announced today that ticket sales for the upcoming season will be sold using a lottery system instead of the traditional first come, first serve method.
Running from June 10 through June 21, students will be able to go to the Penn State Student Account Manager, instead of Ticketmaster.com, to request their season tickets. An email will be sent to the eligible students’ Penn State email on the week they’re supposed to request tickets with a link to the request.
Each class will have one week to put in this request starting with graduate students on the 10th and ending with freshmen on the 21. After this process, students will then hear back via email in regard to their ticket request on June 24.
All eligibility requirements to buy tickets will remain the same as the previous years. To request tickets, students will need to put a credit card on file.
If the student is selected for season tickets, then Penn State will charge $246 on their card, which is the price of student season tickets. If the student is not selected, then no charge will be applied to their card.
Penn State said in a statement on their website that this was done considering “feedback from students, parents and families.” The Nittany Lions kick off their seven-game home slate on Sep. 7, when they take on Bowling Green at Beaver Stadium.”
