Penn State begins 2023 campaign ranked No. 7 in preseason AP Poll

The lofty expectations for Penn State continue to mount as it begins the 2023 campaign ranked No. 7 in the AP preseason poll that was released on Monday.
The Nittany Lions entered 2022 unranked for the first time since 2016, and they went on to have an 11-2 record, capped off with a victory in the Rose Bowl.
The No. 7 ranking is the highest the blue and white has been to open a season since 2020, where it finished the year with a 4-5 record.
James Franklin has boasted about the talent and depth all offseason long, and the season kicks off in less than three weeks on Sept. 2 at home against West Virginia.
