Opinion: Top sleeper picks of the 2025 NFL Draft
The NFL Draft is right around the corner and some of the best players of all time have been selected in the later rounds of the draft such as Tom Brady, Joe Montana and Terrell Davis.
Even in recent years, some of the best players in the league have been taken on Day 2 or even Day 3. Some of those players are Puka Nacua, George Kittle and even Brock Prudy who was taken with the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
There are so many prospects this year that aren’t being considered in the early rounds of the draft that should be because of their current talent and their potential.
So, here are my sleeper picks of this year’s NFL Draft.
Ahmed Hassanein, DE, Boise State
While Hassanein might be smaller than most NFL scouts would want from a defensive end, he had an outstanding combine that had scouts and all eyes on him.
Hassanein did 27 reps on the bench press and showed his speed and footwork in the on-field drills and the combine.
Hassanein earned first-team All-Mountain West honors in each of the past two years and helped the Boise State Broncos to consecutive league titles and the school's first CFP appearance in the first ever 12-team playoffs.
Nick Nash, WR, San Jose State
The fact that this guy is listed as WR25 by ESPN is absolutely absurd. Nash led wide receivers in FBS in receiving yards with 1,382 and led all of FBS in 16 touchdowns.
Nash was even robbed of the Biletnikoff Award for the best wide receiver in college football. The player that won it was Travis Hunter, who isn’t even listed as a wide receiver for the NFL Draft.
I believe that any NFL team that picks up Nash in a later round or even on Day 3 of the NFL draft will be getting one of the best steals of the draft.
Ashton Gillotte, DE, Louisville
Like Hassanein, Gillotte is a bit undersized for the defensive end position but had a very productive pro day, running good times for the 40-yard dash as well as the three-cone drill.
Gillotte has been a very consistent player over his four years playing for the Louisville Cardinals, putting up great numbers for the ACC powerhouse.
Gillotte is a very gifted athlete that has a very high potential going into the draft and will be a dangerous player taken on Day 3.
Wyatt Milum, OT, West Virginia
Milum played a huge role in West Virginia's offensive line for all of his years he played for the Mountaineers. He started at right tackle as a true freshman before moving to the left side in 2022.
Milum did not allow a single sack and allowed only eight pressures in 2023. These incredible stats earned him second-team All-Big 12 honors.
If he can continue his strong game into the NFL and become a leader early on, possibly even as a rookie, he can be a high-level prospect for years to come.
