Opinion: Dressing at the Oscars
Disappointing - H.E.R
H.E.R. turned heads on this year's Oscars red carpet, wearing a custom gown by Ralph Lauren. While she exuded confidence and wore the gown stunningly, this was not her most memorable look.
The gold, foil-textured gown, designed with a shimmering bodice and metallic belt, felt somewhat underwhelming for Hollywood’s biggest night.
The muted color palette washed her out and felt too casual for such a prestigious occasion.
The Academy Award-winning singer-songwriter did, however, rock mixed metals with her accessories. She paired this dress with a statement two-toned choker by Chopard that glistened along the carpet.
A darker, more sultry, sophisticated ensemble would have emphasized her mature, effortless glamour. Something like a custom Balmain gown similar to Doja Cat’s red carpet look or Tyla’s 2024 Met Gala masterpiece.
The R&B sensation also attended the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party in custom Valdrin Sahiti. This gown was sensational and accentuated her features perfectly.
Nevertheless, no outfit will outshine H.E.R.’s undeniably charming presence. - Natalee Bravo
