NFL Prop Betting: Week 9
The following article contains information that is not representative of the opinions of CommRadio. It solely expresses the opinions of Ben Barker.
Another week in the NFL is officially here as we reach the halfway point (crazy right?)
With eight weeks of player props under everyone’s belt, it's time to shift focus to Week 9.
Here is who I think can cover their bets this week.
Ja’Marr Chase: Over 85.5 Receiving Yards
The Bengals haven’t been living up to expectations this season, but that is not at the fault of Chase.
The former first-round pick out of LSU is currently leading the league in receiving yards and touchdowns.
The Bengals will be going up against a Raiders that has given up over 300 yards a game. That ranks No. 11 in the NFL
Chase has played well against mid-tier defenses, and Joe Burrow clearly needs to have his No. 1 option involved as much as possible.
The Bengals need to have this win to remain competitive in the AFC, and Chase can help with that as well as the bank accounts.
Jalen Hurts: Over 214.5 Passing Yards
I like this bet. Hurts the Eagles to finally be getting it together as a whole, especially the offense.
After a shaky start, Hurts and Eagles are riding the hot hand after three uninspiring performances to start the year.
After back-to-back dominant victories over the New York Giants and Cincinnati Bengals, they will be ready to pounce again against a plummeting Jacksonville Jaguars team.
The Eagles will want to continue to win in the softer portion of their schedule, and I think Jalen Hurts can continue his success through the air.
Dak Prescott: Under 262.0 Passing Yards
Prescott and this Dallas Cowboys offense have not been living up to the expectations Jerry Jones had in mind.
The 31-year-old quarterback has thrown eight interceptions through seven games played this season, which ranks among the top five in the league.
The Dallas offense showed signs of life late in last Sunday’s matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, but overall it has not looked consistent this season.
Prescott and the Cowboys head to Atlanta to take on a talented Falcons defense, so seeing Dak hit this passing yard mark is unlikely.
Bijan Robinson: Over 68.9 Rushing Yards
The first running back that I feel confident about this week is Bijan Robinson, creating big plays every time he gets the ball in his hands.
Robinson’s stats may not jump off the stat sheet, but I think he can run all over the Dallas defense based on what I saw last week.
Dallas let second-string running back Isaac Guerendo average 6.1 yards per carry last week. I can see a starting running back in Bijan making an impact right off the rip.
The Cowboys ranked towards the bottom of the league in yards allowed per carry with 4.8 and 1082 yards given up total. I think this is a safe pick when you look at the matchup.
Amon-Ra St. Brown: Under 73.3 Receiving Yards
I think this is an even safer pick than my last one. Despite the suspension of Jameson Williams, St. Brown was unable to be involved in the passing attack for Detroit.
The former fourth-round draft pick has only been able to muster one 100-yard performance this season. With all of his other performances not reaching the same consistency.
Detroit heads to Green Bay to take on the Packers, who will be looking to extend their winning streak to five.
I can see the Lions utilizing their strong run game on the road, which won’t help St. Brown reach his target this week.
