NFL Game of the Week: Dolphins vs. Chiefs
Both the Dolphins and the Chiefs will be traveling to Germany this week, they will be playing at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, the home of Eintracht Frankfurt of the German Bundesliga.
Both the Dolphins and the Chiefs boast a 6-2 record and this matchup will be a test for two of the top teams in the AFC as we reach the halfway point of the regular season.
During the week leading up to the game, Raheem Mostert had been limited during multiple practices but has not been mentioned in the latest injury report so he should be expected to suit up for the game.
Among other Dolphins listed in the injury report, Robert Hunt is the only player listed as out, and for the Chiefs Clyde Edwards-Helaire has also been designated as out. Some questionable designations for players include cornerback Justin Bethel, tight end Durham Smythe and cornerback Xavien Howard.
Linebacker Willie Gay is listed as questionable for the Chiefs and Braxton Berrios is also listed as questionable for the Dolphins.
The Chiefs are coming off a loss to Denver which is the first time they have lost to the Broncos since Peyton Manning played for them in 2015. The Chiefs' head-to-head matchup versus the Dolphins all time is 15-13 with them only having three head-to-head matchups in the last 10 years, all of which were won by the Chiefs.
Tyreek Hill leads the NFL in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. He will face off against the team that traded him away, and he will do his best to make his impact felt on the field as if he had a chip on his shoulder. Hill is tied for second in the NFL in 20+ yard catches with 16, and he will be trying to catch and take the lead in that category from AJ Brown who has one more than him.
This game should be a great gauge for the NFL’s international market outside of London where there have been three games hosted this year. This stadium has a capacity of 42,200, so it will be interesting to see how many people are in attendance for this game.
Tua Tagovailoa is leading the NFL in passing yards, and with Kirk Cousins’ injury this week ruling him out for the rest of the season, only Tua stands in the way for Patrick Mahomes to lead the league in passing. Mahomes has thrown the ball more than Tua and completed more passes, but Tagovailoa has more yards per attempt.
It should be an exciting matchup that could end up being a preview of a future playoff game, and It will be up to the quarterbacks Tagovailoa and Mahomes to protect the ball as well as move the ball down the field to set their teams up for success.
