NFL fantasy football: Week 4
With every week in the NFL season, there are new trends, injuries, and matchups that the league endures. Taking all of this into account, here are the players you should start and sit in Week 4 of fantasy.
Start ‘em
Diontae Johnson
After being traded to the Carolina Panthers, Johnson saw limited opportunities through the first two weeks of the season.
However, after the benching of Bryce Young, the Panthers offense looks fresher under the wing of veteran Andy Dalton.
Last week against the Las Vegas Raiders, Johnson recorded 26.2 points in fantasy, catching eight passes for 122 yards and a touchdown.
Johnson was also targeted by Dalton 14 times last week, which was more targets than he had seen in the first two weeks combined.
This week, the Panthers take on a struggling Cincinnati Bengals defense. If Johnson is targeted like he was last week, and he most likely will with Dalton starting, he is a must-start.
Jake Ferguson
The Dallas Cowboys tight-end is the no doubt second option in their high-powered offense when healthy. Despite missing week 2 against the New Orleans Saints, Ferguson was a key player against the Baltimore Ravens last week.
Against the Ravens, he recorded 15.5 fantasy points, with six catches for 95 yards. Compared to most other tight-ends, Ferguson is going to be targeted a lot.
He also has yet to get into the end zone this season, so look for Dallas to try to get his name on the score sheet against a rebuilding New York Giants defense.
Najee Harris
With Jaylen Warren sidelined, Najee Harris will surely see an increase in carries and overall offensive snaps.
Last week, Harris recorded a season-best 13.6 fantasy points. This week he will be matched up against an Indianapolis Colts’ run defense that has allowed the second-most rushing yards per game on average so far.
Sit ‘em
Rachaad White
Despite high expectations coming into the season, Rachaad White has not reached them in terms of fantasy. Bucky Irving is also starting to emerge as the Bucs’ primary choice for the position.
While Irving is questionable at the moment, should he play, Rachaad White is an easy sit for this week.
The Philadelphia Eagles’ defense last week also played very well against Alvin Kamara and the Saints, so the matchup may not favor the Tampa Bay ground game either.
Zach Charbonnet
While he has been phenomenal so far this season filling in for Kenneth Walker, this might be the week Zach Charbonnet comes back down to earth.
The Seahawks will be traveling to Detroit this weekend to take on a very impressive Lions run defense.
While Charbonnet did score 25.7 fantasy points last week, the odds of replicating that performance seem slim to none.
Rasheed Shaheed
Despite being one of the most popular new pickups of the season so far, Shaheed is another player who seems like it might be time to come back down to earth.
After catching a deep-ball touchdown in the first two weeks, Shaheed did not record a catch against Philadelphia last weekend.
The Saints offense also looked normal last week for once, and Shaheed’s performance saw very few targets.
The Saints will also be playing an Atlanta Falcons defense that has one of the best secondaries in the NFL.
Plus, you can’t forget that Shaheed will always be the second option behind Chris Olave.
