NFL fantasy football: Week 3
Where are the haters now? I have one off week to start the year and everyone starts writing me off? Yeah, think again, 5/6 this past week ( Chase being the boom player, he sold).
There’s a lot to be optimistic about after week two in the NFL, including my fantasy start picks, JK Dobbins (20.1 points PPR), Malik Nabers (28.7 points PPR) and my fantasy sit picks Zack Moss (5.7 points PPR), Zamir White (6.8 points PPR) and George Pickens (4.9 points PPR).
I definitely just jinxed myself and am going 0/6 now. Anyways.
Must Starts:
Amari Cooper
The Browns are still looking to find their offensive tempo and they’re going to get it this week as they play a Giants team that has a rough couple of games to start the year.
While Cooper hasn’t put up any impressive numbers to start, 7.7 points through two games, he’s gotten a total of 17 targets which is a great sign especially going into a matchup against a weaker team.
Alexander Mattison
Once again, another week with a great matchup for running backs against a weak Panthers defense that has given up the 29th most fantasy points to running backs this season.
While Zamir White and Mattison continue to split reps in the backfield pretty evenly, Mattison has appeared to get more of the goal-line work and should be a solid start this week.
Jameson Williams
The hype is real!
Williams has had an explosive start to the season, emerging as a top threat in a stacked Lions offense as he is averaging 19.4 points per game and is ranked as the 8th wide receiver overall.
He’ll have a favorable matchup this week against a Cardinals defense that has looked pretty good but has given up the 24th most fantasy points to wide receivers this year.
Must Sits:
Najee Harris
While it seemed that last week Harris would be primed to be one of the best running backs of the week, he not only didn’t have a big game, but he split a majority of work in the backfield with Jaylen Warren.
If Warren is healthy and Fields starts to get going in the red zone, it may be hard to start Najee on a day where they face a stiff Chargers run defense.
Ezekiel Elliott
The Cowboys run game has not only been very bad but the touches have been split pretty evenly in the backfield.
The matchup doesn’t get any easier here as they go up against the Ravens who have had the top run defense in the NFL through two weeks, only allowing 49.5 rushing yards per game.
Rome Odunze
Even with Keenan Allen unlikely to play once again, the Bears offense has greatly struggled to find their rhythm so far and it’s not going to magically be fixed overnight.
If you need to start him in your flex because of all the injuries that are occurring around the league, it’s not the worst move, but I think that he’s still going to be having very mid-games until this Bears offense gets their stuff together.
No Boom Player this week after the Chase blunder pick.
