NFL Betting: Week 6
Five weeks are in the books as the NFL season continues to cruise along.
Last week Vegas was not on point like they usually are, various underdogs were able to triumph including two of my picks last week.
With that being said and done, what picks are on the horizon for this weekend?
The following article contains information that is not representative of the opinions of CommRadio. It solely expresses the opinions of Antonio Fondacaro.
Cincinnati Bengals (-3) at Seattle Seahawks
Last week Vegas made the grave mistake of doubting Joe Burrow, and they paid us for it too!
This week Vegas is swinging on the other side of the pendulum. Despite Seattle being ranked a top 10 team in every major network power ranking, the Seahawks are a three-point underdog in their own home stadium.
Joe Burrow has been getting increasingly healthier as the season rolls on.
With Seattle’s weak line of scrimmage, I expect head coach Zach Taylor to allow Joe Burrow to let loose this weekend.
Some may argue that Seattle’s 11 sacks against the Giants last week mean they can rush the passer.
That is simply an illusion, The Seahawks have allowed opposing teams not named the New York Giants to score 27 or more points on them. Including the Carolina Panthers who have the eighth-worst scoring offense at 18.2 pts per game.
This game is dire for Cincinnati, who needs this win to catch up with their competition in the AFC North.
The Bengals flex their muscles in Lumen field and cover the spread.
San Francisco 49ers (-6.5) at Cleveland Browns
This game has had a lot of drama happen within the last three days.
The line opened at -3.5, everyone was expecting Deshaun Watson to return after the bye week and give the Niners a fight.
As questions about Watson’s health began to circulate, the line jumped to -5 on Tuesday.
It is now confirmed that not only will Deshaun Watson not play, but standout rookie backup Dorian Thompson-Robinson will also not make the field on Sunday.
Veteran quarterback P.J Walker will make his season debut for the Cleveland Browns without a full week of practice under his belt.
The 49ers look like the best team in football right now. Although their 15-game regular season winning streak can snap at any moment, this is not the time.
Take this line as fast as possible. It’s only going to rise throughout the week as more bettors pile on to ride San Francisco.
Carolina Panthers at Miami Dolphins (Over 48.5)
Let’s talk about another team that just played the New York Giants, the Miami Dolphins.
This team’s offense is special, they average a whopping 513.6 yards a game and score an average of 36.2 points per game.
Miami alone has the capability to cover this over. The reason it is not higher is that Vegas believes the loss of De'Von Achane will slow the Dolphins’ offense down.
Despite being in line with Vegas in my previous two picks, I don’t think Miami is going to miss a beat. Raheem Mostert is more than capable of having an increased role in the fastest offense in football.
The Monday night matchup between the Chargers and Cowboys somehow has a higher line set at 50.5 points. I believe this is an opportunity to cash out on this discrepancy.
Unlike the Giants, the Carolina Panthers have a bad defense and a rookie quarterback. This is great for the over because if the game goes to garbage time, Frank Reich will most likely have Bryce Young play the game out to gain some valuable experience.
If the Carolina Panthers can score anything over 17 points this over should most definitely hit.
