Murray throwing the ball

NFL betting: Week 4

By Carson Schuler

The following article contains information that is not representative of the opinions of CommRadio. It solely expresses the opinions of Carson Schuler.

Last week I won two of my bets and lost one, and only Jahymyr Gibbs scored a touchdown in my three-leg touchdown parlay. The Steelers-Chargers game ended 20-10 and the under 35.5 hit, and the Packers covered easily, it was never a doubt.

For this week, I am going with two player props and one moneyline, and also a light sprinkle on another three-leg touchdown parlay. Until I go on a losing streak, I'll keep doing the touchdown parlays for fun.

No. 1: Kyler Murray 225+ Passing Yards (-136)

The Cardinals are playing the Commanders this week, and while they have looked good on offense, the Commanders have allowed 791 passing yards this season, which is the third most in the league.

Kyler has hit this line only once this season, but I expect him to soar over this line on Sunday. I think Marvin Harrison Harrison Jr will likely go over his receiving line too, but it’s not out yet, so I can't include it in this article.

No. 2: Justin Fields 40+ Rushing Yards (-130)

The Steelers are facing the Indianapolis Colts who are allowing the second most rushing yards this season, 537 yards in three games. Fields and the Steelers are near the middle of the pack so far in terms of team rushing, but Fields has been limited in the number of carries during the last two weeks, totaling only 14 carries for 33 yards against the Chargers and Broncos.

In week one he had 14 carries for 57 yards against the Falcons, I expect the Steelers to rely on the run game heavily against the Colts and involve Fields in the rushing attack too, perhaps we might see some RPO as well. 40 yards feels easy for me, but if you're skeptical about that, maybe take Najee Harris’ rushing prop instead.

No. 3: New Orleans Saints Moneyline (+110)

The Saints are coming off a tough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, and now are underdogs in a divisional matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. I think despite the humbling defeat, they should still be the favorites, I’ll gladly take this money line at +110.

The Saints have a top-six rushing offense in terms of total yards, and while their total passing yards are relatively low so far this season, they have the highest yards per pass attempt and third-highest yards per reception. The Falcons have a respectable defense, nearing the top in yards per carry allowed and yards per pass attempt allowed, divisional games tend to be ugly, and I foresee this one being close, but give me the saints this week.

Touchdown Parlay: Jamarr Chase (-105), Breece Hall (-155), Aaron Jones (+125).

Total Odds +622

It took until week three for Chase to finally get into the endzone, and he did it twice, all we need is one this week. The Bengals are facing a Panthers team that has already allowed seven passing touchdowns this season which is tied for 2nd most in the NFL.

Breece Hall faces the Broncos, who have the best pass defense this season in terms of yards allowed. With that thought in mind, the Jets will have to rely on the running game to be successful, and Hall is their workhorse. Let's hope Braelon Allen doesn't vulture his chance if they get to the redzone.

Aaron Jones returns to Lambeau Field with one thing in mind, Revenge. The Vikings have been one of the most surprisingly dominant teams this season, and Aaron Jones is a key part of that. I'll be rooting for another Lambeau leap on Sunday to cash this parlay.

To reiterate, do not follow my advice, I am not a financial analyst, nor am I a betting expert.
