It was announced that five original Netflix series would no longer be moving forward with the streaming service, allegedly due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike impacts.

The shows include “Shadow and Bone,” “Agent Elvis,” “Glamorous,” “Farzar” and “Captain Fall.”

The strikes proved to be catastrophic for these programs, all of which only ran for a single season except “Shadow and Bone,” which had two.

Writing and launch delays, large gaps between seasons and viewership numbers all played a part in the decision to cancel the shows.

The highest profile cancellation is “Shadow and Bone,” a fantasy show based on the bestselling novels by Leigh Bardugo.

Season 2 proved detrimental since it did not put up the same viewership as season 1 and failed to hit the No. 1 English language series on Netflix during the five weeks it spent in the top 10.

Fans of the series are already expressing their dismay on social media, since now it seems the potential for a spin-off for the “Six of Crows” characters is also off the table

“Agent Elvis” and “Captain Fall” are both animated dark comedy series, which did not draw big enough audiences to continue.

“Glamorous” tells the story of a young gender non-conforming queer person who got a life-changing opportunity to work for a legendary makeup mogul, and “Farzar” is a sci-fi comedy about leaving a human city to fight evil aliens.

None of these projects had the support of Netflix to move forward, while the streaming company has greenlit new seasons of other shows including “One Piece,” “XO Kitty” and “Heartstopper.”

The list of cancellations will likely grow in the coming weeks when other studios assess the damages of the strikes.
