NBA Top 10 Players
The talent and production of the NBA’s top players this season has been truly out of this world.
Superstars are battling it out every night and this article is going to cover those who stand at the pinnacle of basketball this season.
No. 10: Anthony Davis
Not only has Davis been a force to be reckoned with this season, but he’s on pace to play over 65 games, which would be a first since the 2017-18 season. He’s been an elite offensive and defensive player and is keeping the Lakers in playoff contention despite their rocky start.
No. 9: Kevin Durant
Durant is always going to find himself on any Top 10 list as he continues to light it up this season averaging 28 points per game on 54 percent shooting from the field. He has the Phoenix Suns sitting at the No. 5 seed currently, with plenty of time left in the season to move up.
No. 8: Stephen Curry
Curry is still the sharpshooter we’ve all come to know and love, averaging 28 points per game on the season and would place higher on the list if not for two reasons. His field goal percentage has gone down from last year and the Warriors have been on a downward trend, sitting at only the 10 seed.
No. 7: Lebron James
In the same way Durant will always find himself on any Top 10 list, the same can be said for James, only times 10. In year 21, he’s still tearing it up averaging 25 points per game on top of shooting almost 40 percent from three. When will Father Time come to dethrone the King?
No. 6: Jayson Tatum
The Celtics star hasn’t lost a step this season averaging the second most points of his career thus far at 27 points. Though his phenomenal play is noteworthy, what catapults Tatum up on this list is the fact that he has the Celtics sitting at the one seed in the East with the best record league-wide at 43-12.
No. 5: Joel Embiid
Embiid started off with one of the craziest beginnings to an NBA season we have ever seen before putting up a tremendous 35 points per game and even had an electrifying 70-point performance. Where he falls short is what a common concern for him is always being injured, where is now out for 6-8 weeks with a meniscus tear and he’s only played 34 games this season.
No. 4: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Last season, Gilgeous-Alexander broke out as the league’s freshest new superstar and he hasn’t missed a beat this season. The Thunder despite being very young and inexperienced sit at the two seed in a very competitive Western Conference and this in large part, is because of Gilgeous-Alexander.
No. 3: Luka Doncic
To call Doncic’s performance this season anything short of masterful is a gross understatement. He dropped a career high 73 points which is tied for fourth all-time in NBA history. Almost averaging a 35-point triple-double while having the Mavericks fighting for a playoff spot has to place him in the top three.
No. 2: Nikola Jokic
Jokic has become one of, if not the most consistent players in the league performing day in and day out. He’s second in the league in triple-doubles and currently has the Nuggets at the No. 4 seed. If he keeps up this stellar performance, we could be looking at a repeat of last year's NBA champions
No. 1: Giannis Antetokounmpo
The Greek Freak’s showing this season could very well net him his third MVP this season as he runs rampant through the league. Not only is he one of the most efficient offensive players in the league shooting a career-high 62 percent from the field, but the Bucks sit at the No. 3 seed in the East and are certainly a top contender to win it all this year.
