NBA Game of the Week: Clippers vs. Nuggets
An exciting NBA match is set between The Clippers and The Nuggets, on Friday at 8:30 in snowy Denver Colorado. This face-off is sure to be an exciting one as The Denver Nuggets look to earn their first consecutive victories in a month.
The Nuggets are coming off seven losses in an 11-game streak, including one of their two setbacks against The Clippers previously this season. The Nuggets remain determined in their pursuits, however, as they gear up to face The Clippers once again,
The Nuggets star Nikola Jokic, who road the Nuggets to victory against The Atlanta Hawks this past Sunday while scoring 48 points, collecting 14 rebounds, and eight assists, looks to keep this momentum going against The Clippers. This kind of power is exactly what this Denver team needs to gain another win over Los Angeles.
Looking to earn his fourth MVP award in his last five seasons, Jokic currently leads the NBA in rebounds at 13.6 per game and is second in points at 32.3 and assists at 10.2. He has 104 points over the past two games even though his 56-point performance on Saturday against the Washington Wizards ended in defeat.
Jokic's push on offense lines up with a hamstring injury to Jamal Murray, who missed the past two games and is expected to be listed as questionable for Friday's game. In his first season with the Nuggets, former Clippers guard Russell Westbrook has averaged 6.4 assists per game. With Murray down, he has now averaged 11.5 assists in the past two games. All in all the Nuggets look poised and prepared to face the Clippers.
On the Los Angeles side of things, we have Norman Powell and James Hardin, both recovering from various different injuries over the course of the season, looking to play at 100% this Friday. Norman Powell has averaged 32.5 points in the two victories over the Nuggets and leads Los Angeles with 23.6 points per game this season.
Meanwhile, the 35-year-old Harden has raised his game for the Clippers by averaging 21.6 points, his most since the 2021-22 season. He has also averaged 8.5 assists with 6.8 rebounds while playing in all but 1 of the last 25 games.
At the end of the day, this showdown is sure to be an exciting one, as these two teams are set to duke it out in Denver. This isn’t a game you’ll want to miss.
