Most Popular Halloween Costume Predictions

With Halloween right around the corner, the Arts and Entertainment Department predicts the costumes that are going to be prominent during this year's holiday.
Rollerblading Barbie and Ken
Everyone who has seen the newest Barbie movie knows that it is a movie full of amazing potential Halloween costumes, but the scenes in Los Angeles when Barbie and Ken are rollerblading are predicted to be the most popular.
The costume combines so many popular ideas: movie references, Barbie, ‘80s inspiration and couple's costumes.
Wearing head-to-toe neon and funky patterns while being Barbie is every girl’s dream!
Most of the original Barbie movies were released from 2007-2011 and the prime audience was 5-10 year old girls. The younger half of the audience is currently in college, which is where Halloween is taken the most seriously.

Revamped Little Mermaid
Similarly, the increase in Ariels and mermaids on Halloween will skyrocket.
No one can do it better than Halle Bailey, but that won’t stop anyone from trying. Shell tops, red wigs, and tiny shiny green skirts will be sold out everywhere.
To enhance the prediction, girlfriend groups will dress up as all of King Triton’s daughters, and bonus points for a male King Triton, whether a friend or boyfriend. Or even Ursula and Sebastian.
The Little Mermaid is the perfect movie to have a group costume for. All natural redheads should take advantage of this opportunity and every beach girl should lean into their passions and wear a sparkly bikini on a cold October night. - Natalie Simone
Taylor Swift’s Era’s Tour
There is no excuse for not being filled in on the international superstar and household name: Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift is for everyone; mirroring how everyone is from a different era, each girl can inspire their Halloween costume in whatever era they choose.
If you ask any fan, there are 10 eras, which can make for 10 different costumes. The last revamp of an album was Speak Now, which was released last summer, but on Halloweekend, Oct. 27, “1989” is planned to be released.

Barbenheimer
When it comes to pop culture, was there a bigger weekend than the dueling premiers of “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer”?
No, the opening weekend became the fourth-largest weekend in box office history and the only one without any sequels or franchises in the mix.
For couples, this is easy. Especially if one person wants to be Barbie and the other doesn’t want to be Ken. So throw on a fedora and some dark clothes; the couple can be the cultural moment of the year.
Even someone can do it on their own. It may take a little bit of craftiness and creativity, but any pairing of bright pink and black should get the point across.

Rihanna’s Halftime Performance
The iconic return of bad girl Riri herself to the music scene at this year's Super Bowl is more than deserving of some costumes in her honor. The pop-princess turned beauty and fashion mogul reminded everyone of all the absolute bangers she has in her discography.
It was Rihanna’s first performance in five years which amassed over 121 million viewers tuning in to see the songstress take the stage. With Rihanna having 14 songs hit number one, theories of which of her plethora of hits would make the setlist were circling on social media.
The all-red outfit including a red puffer jacket is a smart way to stay warm while having a pop-culture costume everyone will recognize. Bring along a Fenty beauty kit and a microphone and everyone is going to eat up this costume.
Rihanna is a fashion icon, gave her Super Bowl performance visibly pregnant and can make anything a trending moment. It’s the perfect way to stay warm and comfortable while being an iconic pop culture moment. - Sophia D’Ovidio
