Knocked Targets were Key in Little Lions Victory over Red Raiders in Season Finale

By Bryan Portney

BELLEFONTE, Pa. — Victoria Castano rolled her ball just inches away from the target line to seal a 6-5 game victory for State College which helped the Little Lions win the match 3-1 over the Bellefonte Red Raiders to finish the 2025 unified bocce season for both teams on Monday.

Lane two was the place to be for the first round of dueling games as it came down to the final shot. As time winded down for State College’s Castano, she knocked the target ball close to State College’s previous throws.

In lane one, State College cruised to a 9-3 victory in the first game, propelled by Little Lions’ Annie LaMotta during the first round.

LaMotta’s roll was the closest from the target ball during one turn in the game, making it a 6-2 game.

Bellefonte got a 7-2 victory in lane one after Savanna Knab pushed the target ball towards the Red Raider throws for a single point during the second round.

Lane two saw another State College victory during the second round.

The Bellefonte High School gymnasium had a good turnout, made up of mostly parents and students.

Despite the loss, Bellefonte’s seniors received gift bags, thanking them for their hard work all season long.
