“I’m Doing It Again Baby!” - girl in red

After a three-year creative hiatus, girl in red is back with her sophomore album that is truly the greatest work she’s ever crafted.
“I’m Doing It Again Baby!” is perfectly titled, and brings to life the resurgence that girl in red is embarking on in 2024. This 10-song album is beyond impressive and truly includes the most honest and witty songs yet.
Prior to the album's release on April 12, 2024, three singles were released: “Too Much,” “Doing It Again Baby” and “You Need Me Now?” These three songs perfectly encapsulate the theme of this sophomore album, and paint the photo of how fun this piece of art truly is.
Girl in red (Marie Ulven Ringheim) released her first album on April 30, 2021, and entered the music space with a unique sound. She became famous for the song “We Fell In Love In October” while true fans thoroughly enjoyed her songs “Serotonin” and “Body And Mind.”
Coming back in 2024, girl in red has signed with Columbia Records, and this new label could be the cause of the skyrocketing attention “I’m Doing It Again Baby!” has gotten.
The album opens with “I’m Back,” which has impressive lyrics and immediately tells the listeners everything that's going to happen. Anyone who has gone through a breakup or an intense trial in life can deeply appreciate this song.
The best way to listen to “I’m Back” is absolutely while on a walk in the sun. This song promotes healing and becoming a stronger person.
“You Need Me Now?” is the most popular song off this album, featuring Sabrina Carpenter, and showcasing the 25-year-olds girl’s talent in the rock-infused pop genre. This song being released as a single was the smartest thing the girl in red’s team had ever decided on.
Girl in red claimed that “Doing It Again Baby” is the most fun song she’s ever made, and that is wildly true. This song makes listeners want to jump around and dance the whole time. This unique sound perfectly personifies what 80 degrees in June feels like.
Although this album is fun and witty, there is also an air of honesty around certain songs. The past three years of emotion are poured out into certain songs, such as “Too Much” and “Phantom Pain.”
Some songs are extremely romantic and genuinely could be played at weddings, such as “A Night To Remember.” If Gabriella Montez and Troy Bolten listened to this song they would probably bawl their eyes out.
“Ugly Side” and “New Love” also showcase the honesty that girl in red has poured into this album. By the end of the album, it’s crystal clear what trials she has been through in the last three years.
Overall, this album absolutely is the best artwork girl in red has ever accomplished. Also released in time for summer, these songs will be on repeat for months by the pool and on mid-day walks.
