Hurricane Milton strikes Florida, relief efforts underway
Hurricane Milton made landfall as a Category 3 storm Wednesday near Siesta Key, Florida, unleashing its fury on the state.
The storm has claimed at least 10 lives, including five fatalities from tornadoes in St. Lucie County, two storm-related deaths in St. Petersburg, and three reported by the Volusia County sheriff. Approximately 11 million people are at risk for flash and river flooding due to the hurricane's widespread impact.
More than 3.4 million homes and businesses in Florida are without power. Relief efforts are underway as communities begin recovery.
