Greater Johnstown Took the Victory over Tyrone Due to a Strong Performance From Their Sophomore Star
TYRONE, Pa. — Marcella White put up 16 points in a defensive heavy game leading Greater Johnstown to a 43-36 win over Tyrone on Friday night.
Zayona Thomas was a breakout player right from the start scoring six points in the first quarter, but it was all about defense for both teams. The defensive battle kept it a low scoring game for both teams going into the half at 18-15 Greater Johnstown.

White was key in this tone shift. She put up a total of 16 points on the night, 13 of those being in the second half.

However, Tyrone responded late in the fourth when Lola Woomer put up a three-point shot bringing the Golden Eagles within four points of the Trojans with just over two minutes left. Directly following that, Kasidee Hardison scored making it 38-36 Greater Johnstown.
It was anyone's game going into the final 45 seconds, but the Trojans proved their dominance when Thomas sank a three-point shot followed by two foul shots to win the game 43-36.
