Governor Shapiro recently announced a $112 million investment in state parks and forests, one of the largest investments in decades.

Although the funds aren't allocated yet, budget funds could go toward state parks like Whipple Dam, a more200-plus acre park just over 13 miles form Penn State's University Park campus.

The investment also created the Office of Outdoor Recreation, and is aimed to combat the over $1 billion project backlog for all state parks and forests. Sophia Montanye reports.
