Gearing Up for Spring Break
What Are Students Up To?

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – After the eighth week of classes on Penn State’s campus, the students finally have a scheduled spring break during the first week in March.
Halfway through the second semester of the year, students have a lot to reflect on but still look forward to.
Sorority and fraternity recruitment, THON, State Patty’s, Travis Scott performing at the Bryce Jordan Center, Valentine’s Day, snow days and mid-terms have all passed. Even considering those special events, students think this break is coming at a great time.
For second-year, Megan Winiarski, majoring in nursing, is “ready for a break” but feels accomplished so far in the semester.
She’s spending her week in Cancun with seven friends from her hometown in the Philly suburbs and trying to get away from the cold weather at home and University Park, PA.
Maddie Baker, a second-year majoring in nursing, is traveling with her Penn State friends to Fort Lauderdale, FL to stay at an Airbnb within walking distance of the beach’s sand.
Baker said, “I am excited for a break. I think it’s coming at a good time, I’m very burnt out. I’m ready for a chill break.”
However, this semester is not at the finish line yet. When students come back the campus will be busy with fun events. Zac Bryan, Drake, Luke Combs and the unknown Movin’ On headliner are highly anticipated.
Adding to the list, Winiarski is “excited for the weather to get nicer and baseball season.” While Baker is looking forward to Penn State’s spring tradition: “the Blue & White game in April.”
