Fantasy Football Report: Week 10

By Alex Perez

Week 9 of the NFL season was a weird week for fantasy, with a plethora of players underperforming their expected points total.

With that being said, here are potential start/sit players at each position for Week 10 as well as recognizing the top performers from an abnormal Week 9.

Quarterback

Start: Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

Goff and the Lions are well-rested coming off a bye. The 12th-ranked QB has struggled in recent games against the Ravens and Raiders.

However, Goff is going into a game against the Chargers, who have allowed the most passing yards to opposing quarterbacks this season.

Look for Goff to have a big game against a defense prone to allowing high-scoring quarterbacking performances.

Sit: Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

Many expected the Jaguars to be contenders while Lawrence made the leap to MVP contention.

While the Jaguars are tied with the Ravens and the Chiefs in the loss column at the top of the AFC, Lawrence has not made the jump many hoped for.

Lawrence has yet to have a game this season where he has scored above 20 fantasy points. Against a vaunted, angry 49ers defense coming off three straight losses, that is not likely to change this week.

Top Week 9 Performer: CJ Stroud, Houston Texans

The rookie quarterback has performed at a star level thus far and had one of the best performances of any quarterback this season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Stroud threw for 470 yards and five touchdowns as he accumulated 41.8 points.

Stroud will face a middling Bengals defense in Week 10, making him a high-end starting option.

Running Back

Start: Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers

Jones has had a disappointing year so far, and has largely been slowed down due to a lingering hamstring injury

However, his 20 carries last week against the Rams was his highest touch count this season, and he found the end zone for the first time since Week 1.

Against a bottom-10 Steelers rushing defense, Jones should once again carry the load for the Packers offense.

Sit: Kenneth Walker III, Seattle Seahawks

Zach Charbonnet has had a higher snap count the past two weeks than Walker, showing his role in the Seattle running back room might be diminishing.

Walker is also dealing with a chest injury that kept him out of practice on Wednesday and has him officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup against the Commanders.

Top Week 9 Performer- Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In a middling week for running backs across the league, White’s 23.9 points gave him the Week 9 running back crown.

Though his numbers may have been inflated by his two touchdowns, White will look to continue his success against an average Titans rush defense.

Wide Receivers

Start: DK Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks

Metcalf has not had a ton of targets or big plays thus far, only having 28 receptions and two touchdowns on the year.

However, against a Commanders defense bottom-three against wide receivers, if Metcalf is going to have a big game this season, this is the one.

Sit: Davante Adams, Las Vegas Raiders

Adams is an incredible talent at the wide receiver position but has been subpar aside from a 42.2-point performance in Week 3.

Despite the Raiders coaching change leading to a dominant win over the Giants, Adams’ performance did not see a similar improvement as he finished with four catches for 34 yards.

The Jets have the number-one-ranked defense against wide receivers this year. That, combined with rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell making the third start of his career, does not bode well for those hoping for an Adams standout performance.

Top Week 9 Performer: Tank Dell, Houston Texans

Dell and other Texans pass-catchers were beneficiaries of Stroud’s massive game. Dell finished with 114 catches and two touchdowns on six catches, and his 23.6 fantasy points were enough to be the cream of the crop for receivers in Week 9.

Shoutout to Noah Brown, who finished right behind his Texans teammate with 21.3 points.

Both could be in stock for repeat performances against the Bengals defense.
