“Just To Say We Did” - Kenny Chesney

I have really been in my country music era lately, so when I saw that Kenny Chesney released “Just To Say We Did,” a couple of weeks ago, I was all over it.

Chesney has always and will always be my favorite country music artist. His songs just make me feel good and happy, and they make me want to be tanning on a beach somewhere.

“Just To Say We Did” feels somehow nostalgic, despite it being a new release. My favorite part of the song is the chorus, where Chesney sings “Tonight, let’s turn it up, fall in love wild / And catch enough buzz to just ride them / Crazy horses runnin’ through our heads / Just to say we did.”

It is such a feel-good song, and being a strong believer in the phrase “YOLO,” this song is so relatable.

I can’t wait to be on a beach somewhere or fishing with my friends this summer while listening to this song. It’s so good. -Sarah Gavlak

“Rainbow” - Kacey Musgraves

Beyoncé told us country music is back, and I immediately put on Kacey Musgraves.

“Rainbow” is a song that came out in 2018 as the final track on Musgraves's third studio album “Golden Hour” and it is truly a song that makes me cry every time I listen.

This track feels so vulnerable as Musgraves lets the piano, the lyrics, and her emotional voice fully drive the song home.

The lyrics are simple yet so comforting and encouraging to keep going in this tiresome world.

She sings, “You hold tight to your umbrella / Well, darlin', I'm just tryin' to tell ya / That there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head.”

Her voice in this song is so soothing and feels like a warm hug on a sad day. Her vocals truly shine through in the best way possible.

Hopefully, with warmer weather coming we will get through to the better side of the rainbow together. -Madison Rush

“bad idea right?” - Olivia Rodrigo

Featured on Rodrigo’s second album “GUTS”, this punk-pop tune packs a punch with heavy-hitting lyricism and one of the catchiest rhythms of her discography.

This piece from Rodrigo encapsulates the message of “GUTS” where Rodrigo is torn on how to feel about an ex-lover. Another hit from this album that demonstrates this message is “get him back!,” but “bad idea right?” is a relatable ballad that we all can connect to in one way or another.

Olivia drops the line “I know I’ve seen much hotter men, but I really can’t remember when.” Even though we know it’s not true, we’ve all been there, Olivia.

However, just a warning to all listeners, if you’re going to indulge in this punk anthem, you better be prepared to be humming the tune all day. -Sketch Morton

“Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” - Mark Kealiʻi Hoʻomalu and the Kamehameha Schools Children's Chorus

I recently watched “Lilo & Stitch” for the first time the other day and ever since this song has been stuck in my head.

The song's story is about surfing and how it is their version of a roller coaster out in Hawaii.

From the catchy melody to the excellent vocals it takes me on a journey of pure happiness everytime I listen to it.

If I had one wish come true, it would be to listen to this song all day and hope that you enjoy it too. -Ben Palillo.
