CommRadio Mock Draft 1.0
With the NFL Draft later this month, speculation is growing among where the biggest prospects will land come draft day.
As we get closer to the draft, rumors circulate among teams looking to trade up and who teams will select when they go on the clock.
Each year, draft experts make “mock drafts” where they predict each team’s selections or trades. They also give fans a sense of who the best prospects in the draft are and where they will end up.
CommRadio’s coverage leading up to the NFL Draft begins with our mock draft 1.0.
1. Tennessee Titans - Cam Ward, QB, Miami
The Titans are in an interesting position as the holders of the first overall pick. They could take arguably the best player in the draft in Abdul Carter, but quarterback is a serious need as Will Levis is not cutting it. Tennessee hopes that they can strike gold with Cam Ward as the first pick. - Ian
2. Cleveland Browns - Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State
The Browns would be getting a generational prospect in Abdul Carter here as he was stellar in his tenure at Penn State with 23 sacks in 42 games.
He pairs well with recently-resigned edge rusher Myles Garrett, making for one of the most deadly pass rush combos in the NFL.
- Bryan
3. New York Giants - Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
Joe Schoen needs to hit a homerun to save his job. He takes the prodigal son of college football in Shedeur Sanders in the hope that he will be his franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future. - Luke
4. New England Patriots - Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
The Patriots are in serious need of offensive firepower for Drake Maye as he enters his second season in the league. New England also could use a corner opposite of new offseason signing Carlton Davis.
Travis Hunter is the guy to fulfill both needs, as he plays both sides of the ball and is the most talented player college football has ever seen. - Ian
5. Jacksonville Jaguars - Mason Graham, IDL, Michigan
The Jaguars need to shore things up defensively, which makes Mason Graham the right fit with 108 tackles in three years at Michigan. With a rushing defense that was 25th in the NFL last year, Graham works as a great addition. - Bryan
6. Las Vegas Raiders - Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
Vegas really hasn’t addressed their need at corner as well as they should have in the offseason, signing only Eric Stokes to a one year prove it deal.
But at six, with both QB’s off the board. Vegas lands a piece to be their lockdown corner. - Luke
7. New York Jets - Will Campbell, OT, LSU
The Jets could use a right tackle opposite of Olu Fashanu in 2025. In a spot where they could go receiver to give Justin Fields another option along with Garrett Wilson, they will likely fulfill their need at right tackle in Will Campbell - Ian
8. Carolina Panthers - Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
Bryce Young needs more weapons to throw to with a wide receiver core that only includes an aging Adam Thielen and rookie Xavier Leggette.
With Miles Sanders holding things down in the ground game, the Panthers could be one of the more electric offenses in the NFL next year. - Bryan
9. New Orleans Saints - Jalon Walker, Edge, Georgia
The Saints are in need of multiple spots on both offense and defense. But after struggling in rushing the passer last season, New Orleans picks up an ace edge rusher from the football factory that is the Georgia Bulldogs. - Luke
10. Chicago Bears - Armand Membou, OT, Mizzouri
The Bears offensive line is in good shape on paper, especially with the offseason addition of Joe Thuney.
Left tackle Braxton Jones is going into a contract year and the Bears could draft Armand Membou and have him sit behind Jones to develop until Membou is ready to be the replacement. - Ian
11. San Francisco 49ers - Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas
With a limited pass defense that only had 11 interceptions last season, the 49ers desperately need another secondary piece to complement safety Ji’Ayir Brown.
Jahdae Barron had five interceptions himself last season with the Longhorns, which tied for the highest in the SEC. - Bryan
12. Dallas Cowboys - Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Jerry Jones is not going to let this one slip past him. After letting Rico Dowdle walk and bidding goodbye to franchise legend Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys need a player to power their run-game.
Ashton Jeanty is one of the most talented players in the class and Dallas scoops him up here at 12. - Luke
13. Miami Dolphins - Kenneth Grant, IDL, Michigan
Miami has been needing a defensive tackle after Christian Wilkins left to sign a big contract with the Las Vegas Raiders.
With Mason Graham already off the board, the Dolphins can pivot to his interior partner at Michigan in Kenneth Grant. - Ian
14. Indianapolis Colts - Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
Warren is a versatile player that would be a great addition for any offense, but especially for the Colts. With 1,233 receiving yards last season, he’s a solid pass-catcher that can take over for Drew Ogletree. - Bryan
15. Atlanta Falcons - Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall
Though the Falcons signed Leonard Floyd in the offseason, edge rusher is still a big spot of need for Atlanta. They will take a chance on one of the biggest stars from the Senior Bowl in Mike Green. - Luke
16. Arizona Cardinals - Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State
The Cardinals could be looking to continue working on their offensive line after drafting Paris Johnson last season.
Right guard is a major weakness for Arizona and Johnson struggled on Kyler Murray’s blindside last year. Arizona could take another Ohio State tackle in Josh Simmons and move Johnson to the interior, while Simmons takes the mantle at left tackle. - Ian
17. Cincinnati Bengals - James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee
The Bengals need a lot of help on the defensive side and that starts with a pass rush that ranked 25th in the NFL in sacks last season.
James Pearce Jr. had 17 sacks in two full seasons at Tennessee, and his 4.47-second 40-yard dash was one of the most explosive among defensive linemen at the Combine. - Bryan
18. Seattle Seahawks - Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas
Seattle Made some solid moves this offseason, especially signing Sam Darnold to a deal to quarterback the offense. The Seahawks pick up a great tackle in Kelvin Banks to help protect Darnold and insure their investment. - Luke
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia
While the Bucs were number 6 in sacks in 2024, they have glaring weaknesses at edge rusher even with the signing of Hasson Reddick.
Mykel Williams is more of a run defender out on the edge, but if he can consistently get to the quarterback at the next level he will be a very good selection for Tampa Bay. - Ian
20. Denver Broncos - Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri
Bo Nix improved throughout the season during his rookie campaign, but he needs an extra wideout.
With 21 receiving touchdowns in three seasons as the top receiver at Missouri, Luther Burden III makes the Denver dynamic duo into a terrific trio of pass-catchers. - Bryan
21. Pittsburgh Steelers - Walter Nolen, IDL, Ole Miss
The Steelers are in definite need of some help on the defensive line, with their core only getting older every year. Pittsburgh takes a physical specimen here to help bolster their squad in the trenches - Luke
22. Los Angeles Chargers - Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
The Chargers lack solid passing options outside of Ladd McConkey. While L.A. does have a need at wide receiver opposite of McConkey long-term, getting a tight end like Loveland that can be a reliable target for Justin Herbert will certainly give defenses more to worry about with the Chargers offense - Ian
23. Green Bay Packers - Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
Egbuka is a star wide receiver with potential to break out with Jordan Love at QB. The Packers don’t have a star receiver which gives Egbuka the opportunity to slot in right away. - Bryan
24. Minnesota Vikings - Malaki Starks, S, Georgia
Starks has been an absolute stud for Georgia in his tenure as a starter. If not for some rough testing and some streaky performances.
Starks would be a shoe-in for a much higher pick in this draft, but at 24, the Vikings stop his slide and snag themselves a potential star in their secondary. - Luke
25. Houston Texans - Grey Zabel, OT, North Dakota State
After Houston traded away Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil, one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL got even worse.
The Texans are in dire need of lineman to protect C.J. Stroud and drafting Grey Zabel, who can play anywhere on the line will be a good start to fixing the offensive line. - Ian
26. Los Angeles Rams - Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon
The Rams were 24th in the NFL in rushing offense last year with 103.8 rushing yards per game. Conerly would be of great help to this offensive line, helping contribute to Oregon’s rush offense that averaged 157.9 rushing yards per game. - Bryan
27. Baltimore Ravens - Tyler Booker, IOL, Alabama
Derrick Henry had a phenomenal season last year behind a solid offensive line. The Ravens goal with this pick is simple, keep improving the offensive line.
Booker is widely ranked as the top guard in the class, and the Ravens add him to bring more out of Henry. - Luke
28. Detroit Lions - Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M
After Aidan Hutchinson went down, the overall play of the Lions defense tanked because they struggled to get to the quarterback.
Shemar Stewart doesn’t get a ton of sacks, but he can be disruptive, as he had 33 hurries in 2024, according to PFF. Drafting Stewart could go a long way for Detroit in providing Hutchinson with a solid pass rush partner. - Ian
29. Washington Commanders - Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE, Boston College
The Commanders’ run defense was one of the worst in the league last season, ranking 30th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game with 137.5. Donovan Ezeiruaku exploded for 20.5 tackles for loss last year, which was the most in the ACC. - Bryan
30. Buffalo Bills - Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss
Buffalo has a couple needs that jump off the page, wideout, edge and most importantly corner. The Bills have limited options at this point in the draft, but they roll with the Ole Miss man in Trey Amos as their first-round pick. - Luke
31. Kansas City Chiefs - Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
Kansas City has needed a true number one receiver since they traded away Tyreek Hill a few years ago. Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice are viable targets for Patrick Mahomes, but as Travis Kelce is nearing retirement, Mahomes will need a new number one.
Matthew Golden is the profile Kansas City would salivate for, solid speed, good hands and good run-after-catch ability. - Ian
32. Philadelphia Eagles - Xavier Watts, S, Notre Dame
After losing James Bradberry and Darius Slay, the Eagles look to Watts to complement free safety Reed Blankenship. Watts has potential to be a solid coverage safety with nine pass deflections and six interceptions last season with the Fighting Irish. - Bryan
